BioGENEius Mentor Award

Who makes a BioGENEius is just as important as what makes a BioGENEius.

2017 BioGENEius Mentor Awardee

Peter Starodub, Director of Science Research, Palos Verdes Peninsula High School

Think of the best science teacher, coach or mentor you ever had. What were some of the qualities that made them so effective, what drove them to teach and what made you listen?

Through our BioGENEius Mentor Award program, the Biotechnology Institute is looking for inspirational figures like, teacher-leaders in the STEM fields, and in particular life sciences,  as well as members of other BioGENEius participating communities (e.g. researchers, entrepreneurs and biotech industry professionals).

We realize the future growth of the biotechnology industry, and all the amazing impacts on the health and wellbeing of today and tomorrow, can’t be realized through the raw talent of our youngest, best and brightest alone, but by the cultivation of that talent. We seek to recognize the cultivation of that genius by inspired mentors who in turn, inspire.

Whether you are a student, parent, teacher, principal or other community member, we want to hear from you.  If you know an ideal candidate for the BioGENEius Mentor Award, please contact us with the requested information below.  Please submit your nomination for consideration and include the following in this order:

  1. Your name and contact information (address, email, phone)
  2. Your nominee’s name and contact information (address, email, phone)
  3. Current school or  employment affiliation of nominee (name and address only)
