Overview

The Delaware BioGENEius Challenge is coordinated by the Delaware Biotechnology Institute. Local Delaware students in grades 9 through 12 can compete in the Delaware BioGENEius Challenge, which is held in conjunction with three local science fairs – The Delaware Tech New Castle County Science Fair, the Kent County Science Fair, and the Sussex County Science Fair.

To participate in the DE BioGENEius Challenge, you must:

  1. Be performing biotechnology research, which is defined as "the use of the knowledge of biological systems to produce goods and services."
  2. Be conducting an individual project; team projects not accepted.
  3. Register and participate in of the three Delaware fairs listed below.

Register on The Biotechnology Institute website by completing the online application. Don’t forget to also complete the Parent and Mentor Forms required for your participation.  A PowerPoint slide of your poster must be submitted.  A BioGENEius Application Checklist  is available online and provides all instruction needed. The application deadline is March 30th.
