During the International Conference on Biotechnology Education, the Institute conducts a half-day Biotechnology Educator Alumni Network workshop that will be presented to up to 100 teachers. The workshop includes a keynote panel with local biotech scientists, a breakout session that will teach the educators how to use web-based resources to stay in touch and collaborate, and breakout sessions where local educators highlight best practices in biotech education. Following the workshop, the attendees attend Biotechnology Education Banquet. The attendees will be educators from the local area of the conference who have completed the National Teacher-Leader program in the past. This event will allow these teachers to form a network of educators who are committed to advancing biotechnology education.
