Sponsorship

 

Teachers from across the United States and around the world participate in the Institute’s intensive premier teacher training program during the International Conference on Biotechnology Education. This six-day program provides participating teachers with:

  • Best Practices Day: Sessions that highlight state-of-the-art curriculum, labs, and programs in biotechnology
  • Networking with colleagues, industry leaders, and professionals in the field of biotechnology education
  • Training how to provide professional development to their colleagues
  • Attendance at the 2008 Biotechnology Industry Organization International Convention
  • Panels on leading issues of biotechnology presented by renowned scientists
  • Hands-on sessions to incorporate biotechnology and bioethics into the curriculum and standards
  • Field trips to local biotechnology companies
  • Recognition and certification as a Teacher-Leader in biotechnology education
  • Opportunity to contend for the biotech educator award in subsequent year
  • All materials, books, and supplies
  • Lodging, local transportation and meals
  • Airfare
  • Attendance at the Teacher-Leader Opening Dinner and the Biotechnology Awards Banquet
  • $250 gift certificate from Invitrogen for supplies and equipment

The corporate rate of sponsorship is $10,000 per teacher and the government, non-profit and school district rate is $6,000 per teacher. If three or more teachers are sponsored, then the sponsored Teacher-leaders will be designated as [Organization name] Scholars and the sponsor will receive a pro rata discount.

Sponsorship of panels or guest speakers ($2,500 – $10,000) – (5 sponsorships available)

Guest speakers, who are experts in the biotechnology field, present to participants in the Teacher-Leader Program.
